Treasured for its comforts, the Congo rocking chair is also a natural wonder in its artistic use of rattan. Framing offers all the curvature required for peaceful relaxation, and wide armrests ensure that restfulness is extended as they sweep upward to a high rounded back featuring resilient support from a custom pillow. Banana rope fibers are crafted into a dense weave that complement open spindling at the sides. Crowning accents are the variegated inlays, which also lend a distinctive primitive character to this collection. These strips, known as croco, are the outer peels of rattan and are left untreated to place their rustic and weathered hues on display. No two pieces will be exactly alike, which contributes to the Congo's heirloom attractions.
